Russia, Morocco Finish Preparing Peaceful Nuclear Energy Use Agreement - Official

Russia and Morocco are almost finished preparing an agreement on bilateral cooperation on using nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, Russian Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev, who is also the co-chair of the Russian-Moroccan Intergovernmental Commission, said on Thursday.

RABAT (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 04th October, 2018) Russia and Morocco are almost finished preparing an agreement on bilateral cooperation on using nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, Russian Agriculture Minister Dmitry Patrushev, who is also the co-chair of the Russian-Moroccan Intergovernmental Commission, said on Thursday.

"Preparations for the [Russian-Moroccan] agreement on cooperation on the peaceful use of nuclear energy is being finalized," Patrushev told reporters.

The seventh meting of the commission was held in the Moroccan capital of Rabat earlier on Thursday. Patrushev chaired it along with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita. Talks focused on regional and international issues, particularly regarding the promotion of peace and security in Africa.

In September, Russia and Morocco congratulated one another on the 60th anniversary of establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.
