Russian, Japanese Deputy Foreign Ministers To Hold Consultations In Coming Weeks - Lavrov

MUNICH (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th February, 2019) The Russian and Japanese deputy foreign ministers will hold consultations in the coming weeks and agree on a new ministerial meeting, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters on Saturday after talks with his Japanese counterpart Taro Kono in Munich.
"We have agreed on further work.
We have our deputies, who are dealing, as tasked by the [Russian] president and the [Japanese] prime minister, with the work [related] to the meetings of ministers. They will have such contacts in the coming weeks," Lavrov said.
According to the diplomat, during the upcoming consultations, the deputy foreign ministers will decide on a new ministerial meeting, "this time in Japan."
"At the same time, we are holding a strategic dialogue at the level of first deputy ministers. The new round will take place on April 2," Lavrov stressed.
