MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th November, 2018) Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, accused by the Monegasque authorities of corruption, does not intend to comment on the court proceedings, but he denies being implicated in any illegal or improper conduct, Rybolovlev's spokesperson told Sputnik on Saturday.
"While the court proceedings continue, Dmitry Rybolovlev does not intend to make any comment either on the proceedings or on the situation he is currently in in Monaco. He believes that judicial bodies should be given a chance to do their job ... However, Rybolovlev firmly refutes any suggestions that he could be implicated in any illegal or improper activities," the spokesperson said.
The spokesman added that Rybolovlev did not plan to sell the Monaco football club.
"As for the Monaco football club, Dmitry Rybolovlev is not planning to sell the club, he aims to continue promoting its development, as he has always been doing since 2011 when he acquired the club," the spokesman said,
Rybolovlev was detained in Monaco on November 6, reportedly over suspicions of corruption and influence peddling. The prosecution told Sputnik on November 7 that Rybolovlev did face charges but did not specify what they were. The billionaire's legal team later said that he had been released without a travel ban but was under court-mandated supervision.
