MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th November, 2018) Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Russia's Chechen Republic, said he had extended greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin to Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa during their meeting at the Bahrain International Air Show (BIAS) 2018.
"I have extended greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin [to the Bahraini king]. The king has expressed his gratitude to Vladimir Vladimirovich over his political position in relation to the Muslim world. He emphasized that the authority of our leader helped improve the international situation. The king has specifically noted that Russia and our head of state play a key role in the settlement of the Syrian conflict," Kadyrov wrote on the Vkontakte social network.
The Bahraini king had noted that the visits, like Kadyrov's trip to his country, helped strengthen friendly ties between states and governments, the Chechen leader added.
Kadyrov visited the BIAS at the invitation of the country's authorities. During the event, the Chechen leader participated in the inspection of a Russian plane together with the Bahraini king.
The air show is held between Wednesday and Friday.
