Seoul and Pyongyang will held Friday negotiations on cooperation in civil aviation in North Korea's border town of Kaesong, where the joint coordination office is located, the South Korean Unification Ministry said on Wednesday.
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th November, 2018) Seoul and Pyongyang will held Friday negotiations on cooperation in civil aviation in North Korea's border town of Kaesong, where the joint coordination office is located, the South Korean Unification Ministry said on Wednesday.
"The [South Korean] government expects the parties to raise constructively the issues of concern in the civil aviation cooperation and to discuss step by step the fields, where the progress is currently possible," the ministry said.
The North Korean delegation, comprising five members, will be led by Ri Yong Son, the deputy director-general of the country's General Administration of Civil Aviation.
The five-strong delegation of the Southwill be headed by Son Myung-soo, a senior official at the South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
Relations between Seoul and Pyongyang began to improve after a historic summit between South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in April after more than a year of rising fears of war over North Korea's nuclear weapons program. The latest inter-Korean summit took place in September and yielded a number of agreements covering such areas as defense, but also culture and sports.
