Syria Donors in Brussels Made Collective Pledge of Almost $7Bln - EU Commissioner

Syria donors pledged almost $7 billion in help for Syrians inside and outside the country in 2019, Christos Stylianides, European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, said at the conclusion of Brussels III Conference on Supporting the Future of Syria and the Region

BRUSSELS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th March, 2019) Syria donors pledged almost $7 billion in help for Syrians inside and outside the country in 2019, Christos Stylianides, European Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, said at the conclusion of Brussels III Conference on Supporting the Future of Syria and the Region.

"I am proud to announce that the delegations here today have made a collective pledge of almost ... $7 billion. We also received pledges of $2.37 billion for 2020 and beyond," Stylianides said.

Last year, donors pledged around six billion at the conference in Brussels.
