Trump Has Good Relationship With Mattis, But Sometimes They Disagree - White House

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 21st December, 2018) White House spokesperson Sarah Sanders told reporters on Thursday that while President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary James Mattis have a good relationship, the two are occasionally at odds with one another on policy issues.
"He [Mattis] the President have a good relationship but sometimes they disagree," Sanders said.
Sanders added that while Trump always listens to the opinions of his national security team and takes all of their advice and considering, at the end of the day, the president makes the decisions because he was the one elected to serve as commander in chief.
Mattis announced on Thursday that he plans to leave the administration by the end of February.
In his resignation letter, Mattis laid out some of his disagreements with Trump on international alliances, as well as differences in their views on Russia and China.
