Turkey's Parliament Speaker Binali Yildirim said on Saturday that close relations of Moscow and Ankara are a guarantee of stability and security in the region.
"Close relations between Russia and Turkey are a guarantee of regional security and stability. We need to boost them even more and make everyone feel and know [their strength] ...
There is no doubt that close cooperation between Russia and Turkey serves as a deterring factor and contributes to stable relations within the region," Yildirim said at the 2nd Conference of the Parliament Speakers in Tehran.
The official also said that it was Moscow's and Ankara's responsibility to prevent any kind of actions that could undermine security in the region.
The 2nd Conference of the Parliament Speakers has gathered representatives from Afghanistan, China, Iran, Pakistan, Russia and Turkey to discuss counterterrorism.
