Turkish forces have killed, captured or forced to surrender 23 militants linked to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), listed as a terrorist organization by Ankara, over the past week, local media reported Monday, citing the country's Interior Ministry.

Turkish servicemen conducted a total of 2,404 counterterrorism operations on December 10-17, according to the Anadolu news agency. They reportedly seized 28 hand grenades, 1,062 Pounds of explosive material, 13 improvised explosives, 20 long-barreled weapons and 7,499 pieces of ammunition.
Turkish military, in particular, neutralized Aysenur Inci, who was on the Turkish Interior Ministry's list of wanted terrorists.
Tensions between Ankara and the Kurds escalated in July 2015 when a ceasefire between Turkey and the PKK collapsed over a series of attacks allegedly committed by the PKK militants. Turkish forces are involved in anti-PKK raids across the country and in northern Iraq.
