MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 14th March, 2019) Two men plotting a terror attack have been neutralized during an operation by the Russian security forces in the Shpakovsky District of southwestern Stavropol region, the Russian National Anti-Terrorist Committee said Wednesday.

"Upon the law enforcement officers' attempt to stop the car [with the suspects], people in the vehicle opened fire, launched a hand grenade and attempted to flee the scene. They were neutralized. Their identities are established," the statement said.

The plotters were followers of the Islamic State (IS terror group, banned in Russia), the statement added.
