ABU DHABI (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 13th January, 2019) The OPEC-Non-OPEC Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) should continue with Russia and Saudi Arabia as its chairs, UAE Energy Minister Suhail Mazrouei said Sunday.
"My advice is to keep the JMMC. It should continue to work.
There are capable chairs of the JMMC that should not be changed," Mazrouei said at the Atlantic Council Global Energy Forum after he was asked about his advice to the Venezuelan petroleum minister, who takes over from the UAE as OPEC president in 2019.
Mazrouei said there was a strong chemistry between Russia and Saudi Arabia, two of the world's largest oil producers.
"These are the two largest producers, the chemistry between them is that they understand and trust each other. We may change other members if we want, but not the two co-chairs of the JMMC," he said.
