MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 16th December, 2018) One person was killed and another 44 suffered injuries as a result of a bus crash that took place not far from the Swiss northeastern city of Zurich early on Sunday, local media reported, citing police.
According to the Blick newspaper, the accident took place at around 4:15 a.m. local time (03:15 GMT) when the bus, heading from Italy's Genoa to the German city of Duesseldorf, crashed into a wall.
All of the injured have been hospitalized, including three passengers who suffered serious injuries.
The Russian Embassy in Bern, in turn, specified that 10 Russian citizens were among the injured passengers.
"Ten Russian citizens have been injured in an accident with a bus that was traveling from Italy. All of them have been hospitalized and are provided with the necessary medical assistance. @RusEmbSwiss is in contact with the police of the [Swiss] canton [of Zurich] and the medical facilities," the embassy said via its official Twitter feed.
The reasons behind the crash are yet to be determined, the outlet added, noting that it had been snowing in certain regions of the country early in the morning and people had been urged to beware of black ice.
