US Awards Lockheed Martin $289Mln Contract For 24 Rocket Artillery Systems - Pentagon

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 25th September, 2018) US weapons manufacturer Lockheed Martin won nearly $290 million to provide 24 more high mobility rocket systems for the Army, the Defense Department said in a press release.

contract for the procurement of 24 M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems launchers, training, spares and enhanced product improvement modifications," the release said on Monday.
Work on the contract will be performed in the US state of Texas with an estimated completion date of July 1, 2022, the Defense Department said.
The M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) is a light multiple rocket launcher used by the US Army. The HIMARS carries six rockets or one MGM-140-ATACMS missile on a five-ton truck.
