US Diplomat to Discuss Humanitarian Aid in Meeting With Columbia's Duque - State Dept.

US Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs is traveling to Colombia on Tuesday for five days of meetings on humanitarian aid with President Ivan Duque and other government leaders, the State Department said in a press release.

WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 13th November, 2018) US Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs is traveling to Colombia on Tuesday for five days of meetings on humanitarian aid with President Ivan Duque and other government leaders, the State Department said in a press release.

"Assistant Secretary Kimberly Breier will travel to Colombia November 13-17 to meet with President Duque and other senior Colombian officials," the release said on Tuesday. "She will meet with international and non-governmental organization leaders and volunteers from US-supported programs that provide humanitarian aid to Venezuelan refugees and migrants.

"

Breier will also participate in the arrival ceremony for the USNS Comfort in Turbo, the release said. The Naval ship deployed to Colombia in order to help care for Venezuelan refugees.

Breier is also expected to hold bilateral conversations on narcotics production and trafficking in the Colombian state of Antioquia.
