US-Led Coalition Transports Islamic State Leaders From Syria's Deir Ez-Zor - Reports

The US-led coalition carried out on Saturday an air operation in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor to evacuate the leaders of the Islamic State terrorist group (outlawed in Russia), local media reported.

According to the Syrian Arab news Agency (SANA), the terrorists were transferred by the coalition's helicopters from the settlement of Al-Marashidah in western Deir ez-Zor to an unknown location.

The US-led coalition has been carrying out operations against the Islamic State in Syria since 2014 without the approval of Damascus or the United Nations.

In December 2017, the Syrian government addressed a message to the United Nations, stating that the coalition was striking deals with the Islamic State group and were coordinating their actions with the terrorists to help them relocate to other regions.
