WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th September, 2018) Christine Ford, a woman who accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, believes there is no need to rush to a hearing on this matter with only two witnesses, lawyer Lisa Banks said in a statement.
"[T]he Committee stated plan to move forward with a hearing that has only two witnesses is not a fair or good investigation," the lawyer said on Wednesday. "The rush to a hearing is unnecessary."
There are multiple witnesses, Banks added, whose Names have surfaced publicly that should be included in any proceeding.
The attorney added that her client was put into the spotlight just a couple days ago and already cannot go home, having received multiple death threats.
Ford is confident a full, non-partisan investigation into Kavanaugh's sexual misconduct is crucial and she is willing to cooperate with the Judiciary Committee, Banks said in the statement.
College professor Ford of California told The Washington Post over the weekend that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were both high school students three decades ago. Ford's lawyer said in an interview that her client would be willing to testify publicly under oath about the alleged assault.
Kavanaugh denied the accusations while President Donald Trump continued to stand by his nominee and called the allegations a political game.
