VLADIVOSTOK (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 24th April, 2019) An airport express train terminal of the Vladivostok train station is closed for passengers and security measures are reinforced next to it ahead of the arrival of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, a Sputnik correspondent reported on Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, Kim arrived at Khasan railway station in Russia's Primorsky Territory, where he was welcomed with bread and salt. After visiting a Russian-Korean House of Friendship Kim has left Khasan and now is heading to Ussuriysk.
A group of police officers with dogs has entered the building for what appears to be a last-minute security inspection. Another police officer told Spuntik that all passengers are now asked to proceed to their trains using the station's main building, but refused to provide any other comments.
A police officer told Sputnik that rapid trains from the Vladivostok airport were redirected to another tracks instead of tracks number two that are now being cleaned by the station's maintenance workers, which may indicate that Kim's train would use them and stop at the airport express train terminal.
A guard also told Sputnik that last minute intense preparations were underway inside the building.
On Tuesday, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kim would meet on April 25 in the eastern Russian city of Vladivostok. Ushakov noted that the talks would focus on a political and diplomatic solution to the nuclear problem of the Korean Peninsula.
