Western Sanctions Did Not Undermine Investor Confidence in Russia's Assets - Siluanov

The West's sanctions and hostile rhetoric did not undermine the confidence of foreign investors in Russia's financial policy, First Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anton Siluanov told reporters Friday while commenting on the placement of Russian Eurobonds

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd March, 2019) The West's sanctions and hostile rhetoric did not undermine the confidence of foreign investors in Russia's financial policy, First Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anton Siluanov told reporters Friday while commenting on the placement of Russian Eurobonds.

"The placement of Russian Eurobonds held yesterday evening illustrates the high level of Western investors' confidence in our financial and economic policies. Neither sanctions nor hostile rhetoric from the West undermined investor confidence in our assets," Siluanov said.

The Russian Finance Ministry said Thursday it had placed a new issue of Eurobonds in the amount of $3 billion maturing in 2035 with a yield of 5.1 percent. It also placed an additional issue of Eurobonds worth 750 million Euros (some $852 million at the current exchange rate) maturing in 2025 with a yield of 2.375 percent.
