Hundreds of yellow vest protesters gathered near the Hotel des Invalides in Paris on Saturday, marking the 14th straight weekend of demonstrations that started in France mid-November, a Sputnik correspondent reported
The demonstration has been peaceful so far, with protesters shouting slogans and lighting flares, according to the correspondent.
Police then used tear gas to disperse aggressive protesters on the left bank of the Seine River, when the yellow vests were going through the 5th arrondissement of Paris.
Yellow vests are also protesting in other French cities such as Toulouse, Strasbourg, Rouen and Le Havre.
Large-scale protests erupted in France on November 17 in the wake of the government's decision to raise fuel prices and increase fuel tax. Even though the French authorities later scrapped their plans, the yellow vest protesters, dissatisfied with the government's social policies, continued to rally across the country.
