A campaign to combat the spread of dengue fever cases in Aden was carried out on Friday, under the supervision of the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC.

ADEN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 23rd Mar, 2019) A campaign to combat the spread of dengue fever cases in Aden was carried out on Friday, under the supervision of the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC.

Funded by the UAE, the week-long campaign seeks to combat the spread of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes that can transmit the viruses that cause dengue fever, said Mohammed Al Shehhi, an ERC representative in Aden.

According to the World Health Organisation, WHO, dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection that causes flu-like illness, and occasionally develops into a potentially lethal complication called severe dengue.
