Hamed Bin Zayed Attends Jiu-Jitsu Tournament For Armed Forces Finals

ABU DHABI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 22nd Jan, 2019) H.H. Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, attended the finals of the third Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Tournament for the Armed Forces.
The tournament was held at the Military Sports education Centre in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The Ground Forces won the "Overall Excellence Shield" and ranked first place in the tournament for the third consecutive year while the Presidential Guard ranked second, and the Zayed Military College ranked third.
The closing ceremony started with a documentary film that highlighted the "Key Jiu-Jitsu for the Armed Forces" that took place last year. Instructors from the Palms Sports Company then presented jiu-jitsu and self-defence performances.
Sheikh Hamed, accompanied by Colonel Sultan Abdullah Ahmed Al Niyadi, Head of the Military Sports Education Centre, presented gold, silver and bronze medals to the winners.
Major General Saleh Mohammed Saleh Majran Al Amiri, Commander of the Ground Forces, received the Overall Excellence Shield and first place medal while representatives of the victorious establishments received their second and third place trophies.
At the end of the ceremony, the tournament’s winners took souvenir photos with Sheikh Hamed.
The tournament’s participants thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohamed for supporting sports and athletes, especially those involved in jiu-jitsu.
The ceremony was attended by Lt. General Eng. Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Pilot Staff-Brigadier Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the UAE National Service and Reserve Authority, and many senior military commanders.
