Sharjah Ruler Attends Launch Of Best Arabic Silent Book Award Category

H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has attended the launch of the 'Best Arabic Silent Book' category of the Etisalat Award for Arabic Children's Literature

LONDON, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 13th Mar, 2019) H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has attended the launch of the 'Best Arabic Silent Book' category of the Etisalat Award for Arabic Children's Literature.

Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Vice President of the International Publishers Association, IPA, and Honorary President of UAE board on Books for Young People, UAEBBY, was also present.

Marwa Al Aqroubi, UAEBBY President, unveiled the details of the new category, adding that it is an alternative to the ‘Best Electronic Application' award category.

The prize amount is AED100,000 and will be distributed 40 percent to the publisher and 60 percent to the artist, or split equally between the artist and the thought-creator behind the publication.

The launch of the Arabic silent book (books without words) category, reflects one of UAEBBY's objectives to enhance the imagination of children and young people via the use of images.
