TOKYO, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 19th Jun, 2018) The UAE will host the Asia-Pacific Assembly for Accreditation, APAC, 2020, which will take place in the capital, Abu Dhabi, in 2020.
The UAE won the bid to host the event after a presentation by the Emirates National Accreditation System, ENAS, during a meeting in Japan about the strengths of the UAE’s bid, which acquired international support.
Hosting the key event is the outcome of the efforts of ENAS to make the UAE an international destination for leading regional and international organisations that support quality and excellence. The event will be attended by around 300 experts and representatives of national accreditation authorities from around 50 countries.
Dr. Rehab Al Ameri, Director of the National Accreditation Administration, stated that hosting such regional and international events crown the efforts of ENAS while adding that the UAE, represented by ENAS, has been a member of APAC since 2016.
She added that the country will receive many national accreditation authorities from APAC member countries, as well as leading international accreditation experts, coinciding with the hosting of the Expo 2020 that will bring millions of visitors to the country.
She stressed that the event will reinforce the regional and international stature of ENAS and will provide an ideal opportunity to develop relevant national expertise.
The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi had a vital role in supporting ENAS to prepare the UAE’s bid, in cooperation with the Gulf Accreditation Centre, to hold the event in Abu Dhabi.
Mubarak Al Shamsi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Conferences Office at the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, said that the UAE’s hosting of the event confirms its prominent international stature and reflects its professionalism in organising international events.
