BEIJING, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 25th Apr, 2019) A delegation from the Emirates news Agency, WAM, headed by Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, WAM’s Executive Director, is participating in the first council meeting of the 'Belt and Road News Network', BRNN, hosted by the Chinese capital, Beijing.
The meeting is attended by 40 media organisations and institutions from 25 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America. 182 media organisations from 86 countries around the world have joined the BRNN.
Speaking at the event, Al Rayssi said that WAM’s participation in the event comes from its belief in the effective role of media, and its ability to contribute to the success of BRNN.
The media sector in the UAE, he said, is recognised as a key partner in the country's sustainable development process. "The participation (in the meeting) is also a new step in the strategic partnership between the UAE and China," he noted.
