462 People Infected With HIV Virus In Bahawalpur Division

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jan, 2018 ) :District Aids Council held a meeting at Deputy Commissioner (DC) Office here presided over by DC Bahawalpur Rana Muhammad Saleem Afzal.
The meeting was briefed that toll of HIV positive patients in Bahawalpur Division has reached 462.
The meeting was further told that about 54 percent of these patients got infected by HIV virus due to use of infected syringes.
Deputy Commissioner directed to operationalize public private partnership to overcome the problem of HIV virus spread through syringes in drug addicts. The meeting was attended by officers of Health Department and members of District Aids Council.
