ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Dec, 2017 ) :An Accountability Court (AC) of Islamabad Thursday dismissed a plea of Nawaz Sharif's counsel seeking not to make the documents submitted by a bank manager as part of the case record related to the Al-Azizia Steel Mills reference.
The court also again summoned NAB witness Malik Tayyab Ahmed on December 11, for cross examination and adjourned hearing on the reference. AC Judge Muhammad Bashir resumed hearing of the Al-Azizia reference.
Former prime minister's representative Zafir Khan also appeared before the court. During the hearing, the junior counsel for the former prime minister, Ayesha Hamid argued that Noreen Shahzad, a private bank manager, was not in the list of NAB witnesses.
She pleaded that the documents submitted by her should not be made as part of the case record.
However, the NAB prosecutor contended that Noreen Shehzad was not a witness, but she was a private bank manager and NAB witness Malik Tayyab also belonged to the same bank.
He requested the court to make the documents presented by Noreen Shahzad as part of the case record. After hearing the arguments from both sides at large, the court dismissed the plea of Ayesha Hamid and allowed to make the documents as part of the case record.
Later, NAB witness Malik Tayyab Ahmed recorded his statement and provided the details of bank transactions of Nawaz Sharif to the court. The court, however, adjourned hearing of the case till December 11 and also summoned Malik Tayyab again for cross examination.
