
DG Rescue 1122 Reviews Emergency Arrangements For Independence Day

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Augst,2016) : Director General Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Brig (Retd) Dr Arshad Zia, while reviewing emergency arrangements for the Independence Day, said that the elements doing one-wheeling should be responsible citizens.
They must respect their own and others' lives by avoiding dangerous act. In order to effectively deal with any untoward incident, all Districts Emergency Officers (DEOs) have been assigned special duties at emergency rescue stations and sensitive areas in order to provide swift response, rescue, emergency medical treatment and safe transportation to any victims to hospitals on August 14. The DG said that apart from flag-hoisting ceremonies at their respective stations, the rescuers would remain alert to help the victims of emergencies with more commitment and the service would remain on high alert in all districts of Punjab.
He requested the citizens to cooperate with the Punjab Emergency Service by providing timely information by dialing 1122 and providing way to the ambulances and rescue and fire vehicles. He also urged parents to ask their children to avoid dangerous act of one-wheeling. According to the emergency plan, all mobile posts and ambulances with medical kits would remain alert with immediate emergency medical cover if needed.
Emergency officers including trained doctors would supervise arrangements on this auspicious occasion. The Service believes that it is the right of the citizens to celebrate Independence in its true spirit; however, they should take care of their safety and avoid racing and one-wheeling.
Special arrangements have also been made to provide emergency cover to citizens who celebrate Independence at night on roads with their families.
