Excise, Taxation Department Collects Over Rs 14 Mln Tax In July: Excise And Taxation Officer (ETO)

The district excise and taxation department is tightening noose around tax evaders, recovering a total of Rs 14.50 million which exceed target of Rs 10 million during the last month.
PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Aug, 2018 ) :The district excise and taxation department is tightening noose around tax evaders, recovering a total of Rs 14.50 million which exceed target of Rs 10 million during the last month.
Talking to media, the Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) Eng Asghar Khan said the total recovery included property tax, professional tax,hotel tax, token tax etc and added that no discrimination would be done during tax collection.
He said that current recovery during the July surpassed all previous records which spoke high volumes of dedication and hardworking on the part of the staff.
He said that the department had received wide appreciation from people across the society and added that tax payers' money would not be allowed to be wasted or misappropriated.
He also appealed property's owners to come forward and take part in socio-economic development of the country by depositing taxes timely.
He added paying tax was a legal and moral obligation, so it should be paid timely, adding various teams had been formed to take strict action against tax defaulters and in this regard the department would not spare anyone if he or she was found involved in tax evasion.
He said that the department had enhanced checking in the area to detect vehicles, which were plying on roads without payment of token tax.
He added the credit goes to all employees who worked day and night to resolving applicants'problems amicably.
