Juan Jesus Fernandez, the 42-year-old main suspect in the murder of a provincial official and the wounding of Argentine lawmaker, was detained by the police, the TN broadcaster reported on Friday
Hector Olivares, a lawmaker from the Argentine province of La Rioja, was wounded by three shots near the congress in the center of Buenos Aires on Thursday morning, while his colleague, Miguel Marcelo Yadon, was killed.
Earlier in the day, another suspect, Luis Cano, was arrested.
The day before, Rafael Kano Carmona, who had a license to drive the car, from which shots were fired, was detained as well.
The attackers primarily targeted Yadon, not Olivares, the country's security minister Patricia Bullrich said. The lawmaker is currently in a hospital in critical condition.
Police are studying the motive behind the attack, and one of the versions is the revenge for the possible romantic relationship of the attacker's daughter with the official. The daughter of the key suspect was also detained.
