MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th May, 2019) At least three Taliban fighters were killed and another three injured in a drone strike in Afghanistan's eastern Paktika province, local media reported on Sunday, citing the 203rd Thunder Corps of the Afghan National Army.
The strike by coalition forces hit a Taliban vehicle, according to the Khaama Press news Agency.
Taliban fighters still have a relatively huge presence in the remote province, where they often attack police, special forces and civilians.
War-ravaged Afghanistan, which has been in turmoil for decades, is split by heavy fighting between government troops and Taliban militants, groups affiliated with al-Qaeda terrorist group (banned in Russia) and other insurgents.
