Iran presented on Monday a new generation of domestically manufactured Fateh-e Mobin short-range ballistic missiles with an "advanced smart warhead," local media reported.

The ceremony of presentation was attended by Iranian Defense Minister Amir Hatami.

"As promised our fellow Iranians, we spare no attempts to elevate the defense power of the country," Hatami said as quoted by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

The minister stressed that Iran's missile power was only of deterrent nature and pledged to develop it on a daily basis.

According to the news outlet, the missile can detect targets on land and sea and attack them and is capable of passing through all kinds of anti-missile systems.

On Saturday, US media reported that Iran had conducted its first missile launch in more than a year. According to media reports, the Fateh-110 Mod 3 missile was launched about two weeks ago from an Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps base in the countrys southeast.
