Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain, Saudi, UAE Foreign Ministers Meet With De Mistura - Statement

AMMAN (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 24th September, 2018) The foreign ministers of Jordan, Egypt, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) met with UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura on Sunday, according to a press release of Jordan's Foreign Ministry obtained by Sputnik.
"[The foreign minister of Jordan Ayman] Safadi tonight [on Sunday] took part in the meeting, also attended by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Jubeir, Bahrain's Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and UAE Foreign Minister Dr Anwar Gargash on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly," the statement reads.
The ministers talked about ways to expand the joint participation of Arab countries in the settlement of various crises in the region, as well as discussed the situation in Syria with de Mistura, the press release specified.
The ministers also agreed to continue meetings and coordination for the sake of common Arab interests.
The 73rd session of the UN General Assembly opened on September 18. The first day of the high-level General Debate will be Tuesday, September 25, and is scheduled to end on October 1.
