Parliamentary elections in Mali have been scheduled for October 28, the country's Council of Ministers said in a statement on Wednesday
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 29th August, 2018) Parliamentary elections in Mali have been scheduled for October 28, the country's Council of Ministers said in a statement on Wednesday.
"The voters will convene on Sunday, October 28, 2018, throughout the country to hold elections of the National Assembly's lawmakers," the statement reads.
If no candidate or list of candidates receives an absolute majority during the first round, the second round will be held on November 18, according to the council.
The election campaign for the first round will open on October 6 and will last until October 26.
Earlier in August, Mali held the presidential election, with incumbent President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita winning the second round with around 67 percent of the votes.
