Paul Allen's Stratolaunch To Launch Rockets Taxi Tests To 90mph - Statement

Stratolaunch, the world's largest aircraft planned to launch payloads rockets into earth orbit, has successfully carried out taxi tests in a runway in the Mojave Desert just days before the project's founder and driving force Paul Allen died, the company said in a statement on Friday.
WASHINGTON (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th October, 2018) Stratolaunch, the world's largest aircraft planned to launch payloads rockets into earth orbit, has successfully carried out taxi tests in a runway in the Mojave Desert just days before the project's founder and driving force Paul Allen died, the company said in a statement on Friday.
"The team performed medium-speed taxi testing at the Mojave Air & Space Port in October 2018. Ground speeds reached a maximum of 90 mph during the test series," Stratolaunch said via Twitter.
The aircraft is being built for Stratolaunch Systems by Scaled Composites to carry air-launch-to-orbit rockets. Its first launch demonstration is scheduled for 2019, according to published reports.
Allen, the billionaire co-founder of microsoft, died of lymphoma on October 15.
