Turkish Parliament Speaker Resigns To Run For Istanbul Mayor

Turkish Parliament Speaker Binali Yıldırım said Monday he is resigning from his post to run for the Mayor of Istanbul in the upcoming local elections in Turkey
The elections will be held on March 31.
"Today, I will leave the post of Speaker of the Grand National Assembly [Parliament] of Turkey," said Yıldırım, addressing the lawmakers.
