(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th July, 2017 ) : Forests on earth are massively being cleared and the quality of land is affected miserably due to deforestation. It is an alarming fact that the rain forests in world will be no more in next 100 years if the current rate of deforestation continued.
In the beginning people cut forest for farming and acquired more space for crops and livestock. Moreover the wood and paper products started manufacturers started larger operation of deforestation, yet another big reason as population is increasing rapidly on the surface of earth.
The urban development has caused the rapid increase of concrete jungle over decades and demolished the face of green planet. Deforestation is occurring around the world in order to gain more space for different purposes.
It is affecting the environment in a worst way. The whole atmosphere is polluted and destabilized. More and more floods are being observed each year and damage the living areas and loss of property and lives.
The climate change is another cause of this issue where the clay on earth is moist but when the covering trees are vanished, the direct heat from sun is not blocked thus it quickly dry out and water vaporizes and return to atmosphere.
More and more industries are mushrooming all over the world, every year around 18 million acres of land is deforested and atmosphere is becoming more and more polluted. The density of pollution is increasing day by day which is affecting the overall health of all living organisms including human, animals and plants.
Burning and clear cutting of trees is common practice and illegal in many areas in world but suitable measures are not being taken which is resulting into unstable weather condition. The unpredictable swings of changes in weather conditions are being observed from the past 50 years where heavy rain falls, land sliding, barren lands have been increased.
Natural habitat of different species of animals is badly affected, more and more birds and animals have been migrated or died as there is huge lack of favorable conditions. The population of different animals is being reduced day by day while some of them are even on the brink of extinction.
It is not only man that plays roles in deforestation sometimes nature and man collectively harms the forests. Rapid fires, floods, over gazing are the other main causes of deforestation. There are solutions to prevent such big disaster and save these tropical and rain forests for future generations.
Proper planning of cutting trees is essential, but on the other hand as stated in a study, number of trees planted should be multiplied by the number of trees cut in replacement. If one specific area has to be cleared for some other purpose, at least same number of trees should be planted in some nearby area.
More effective laws should be formulated and implemented to control the illegal practices of deforestation. The cutting of trees should be balanced by planting younger trees in urban areas and empty lands only this will save the planet earth and our future generations will be more safer and healthier.
