13 Shops Sealed Over Illegal Commercialization

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jul, 2025) Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has sealed 13 shops on charges of illegal commercial use.

An FDA spokesman said here on Monday that FDA had launched a vigorous drive against unauthorized commercialization within FDA-controlled residential colonies on the directives of Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhary and during the drive enforcement team sealed 13 shops in the Katchi Abadi of Usmanabad for their failure to pay commercialization dues.

Giving the details, he said that the operation was conducted under the supervision of Director Town Planning Asma Mohsin and it was led by Estate Officer Aneeb Aslam Randhawa.

During inspection, FDA officials identified several instances where residential properties had been illegally converted for commercial use.

In Usmanabad, property owners, who had defaulted on their commercialization fees, were served notices and 13 shops were sealed accordingly. The owners have been warned that the shops would not be unsealed until all outstanding dues are paid, he added.

He said that FDA administration has also issued a clear warning against the unauthorized use of residential plots for commercial purposes. Any construction found in violation of approved land use may not only be sealed but also be demolished, he said and urged property owners to adhere strictly to legal requirements, obtain formal approval and clear all dues before altering the status of their properties for business use.
