Ajman Government To Enact 'Smart Payment System'

AJMAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 31st Mar, 2019) H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Ajman Executive Council, issued Emiri Resolution No. 05 for 2019, regarding the Ajman Government’s, 'Smart Payment System', JMANPAY, which will be in force from the date of its issuance.
The Department of Finance will be responsible for managing and operating the system.
The resolution stipulates that government authorities must commit to linking their e-payment systems to the Smart Payment System, according to a timeline adopted by the department, in coordination and cooperation with the Ajman eGovernment and in line with relevant legislation.
Local government authorities may authorise any private sector authority to perform transactions through the system.
The resolution also authorises government authorities to collect the financial dues of Federal or local government authorities, or private sector entities, through the system, in line with mechanisms and conditions identified by the Chairman of the Department of Finance.
Government authorities can impose fees for collecting the financial dues of their customers, which will be allocated to the department’s proceeds.
The resolution will be published in the emirate’s official gazette and be circulated among relevant authorities.
