UAE Ambassador Oversees Distribution Of Winter Aid In Lebanon

BEIRUT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 08th Mar, 2019) The UAE Embassy in Beirut has overseen the distribution of winter relief supplies provided by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation to Syrian refugees and other eligible segments of society.
Within this context, UAE Ambassador to Beirut, Hamad Saeed Al Shamsi, visited Al Burj Town, and underlined the UAE leadership's determination to continue to support sisterly Arab nations and meet their humanitarian and developmental needs.
He oversaw the distribution of aid, which included food stuffs, blankets and heating supplies.
The Ambassador was quoted by the Lebanese National news Agency as saying that the winter aid programme is targeting all Syrian refugees, Lebanese citizens and Arab nationals living in Lebanon as per the directives of the UAE leadership to reach out to all eligible segments of society.
"Our aid will continue after the end of the winter season, starting with the Ramadan programme," he added, noting that 37 projects opened in 2017, in addition to 22 more in 2018 as part of the UAE assistance programmes in Lebanon, with 2019 having witnessed a foundation stone laid down for a new project which will be followed by many more shortly, as he indicated.
