Corrective Measures Stressed For Radio Skardu

Education Minister Gilgit Baltistan Muhammad Ibrahim Sanai has underlined the need for taking more measures for revamping the Radio Skardu station to play more effective role in socio-economic development of the area.

ASTORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2018 ) :Education Minister Gilgit Baltistan Muhammad Ibrahim Sanai has underlined the need for taking more measures for revamping the Radio Skardu station to play more effective role in socio-economic development of the area.

Addressing a function here, the GB education minister said that more funds would be allocated for revitalization of the local radio of Skardu which currently could not play its due role in development of the area.

He said that radio Pakistan Skardu was facing several problems including capacity, staff shortage and aging equipments, adding concrete measures would be taken for revamping the national channel for playing more effective role in promoting local culture and heritage of the area.

He was of the view the next generation would suffer for being ignorant about their rich culture, had Radio Skardu was not reinvigorated. Speaking on the occasion, Gilgit Baltistan Council Standing Committee Chairman Ashraf Sadda said that Radio was an effective tool of information and had always guided people towards success.

He said that Radio was fighting war to protect ideological boarders of the country and reinforces unity among the nation. He said that director Radio Skardu may furnish charter of demands and recommendations to gear up the station on modern lines and face the current and future challenges successfully.
