Crackdown Against Electricity Theft In Hazara Intensified

Operation against power theft was intensified in Hazara division where five persons were booked for using electricity through direct hooks.
Superintending Engineer Wapda Hazara region Qazi Tahir led the crackdown against electricity theft at Lora Chowk.
Four accused were found hooking the main electricity transmission line while the fifth person tempered the electricity meter., Six cases were registered against them. The Wapda team also took action against five defaulters of Rs 577254.

Qazi Tahir also formed a special task force which would investigate the electricity theft in the region.
District administration Manshera also continued drive against the electricity theft where Assistant Commissioner Manshera Khurram Rehman along with Wapda team disconnected the electrical connections of 100 houses at Darwaza village. Those were defaulters from last two years. The raiding team also detached two electricity transformers of the village.
The drive would continue in the Hazara region where Wapda and Pesco teams along with police and district administration raids to determine that whether the person is stealing the electricity or not andwould impose fine against power thieves.
