Election Commission Of Pakistan Directs People To Register Vote Or Change Address According To CNIC Till December 31

Election Commission of Pakistan has directed people to register or transfer of votes on the voter's permanent or temporary address mentioned on the CNIC till December 31
HARIPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Dec, 2018 ) :Election Commission of Pakistan has directed people to register or transfer of votes on the voter's permanent or temporary address mentioned on the CNIC till December 31.
This was stated by the District Election Commissioner Haripur Muhammad Ishaq Khan Marwat while addressing district voter's education committee here Thursday.
He further said that under Elections Act 2017 section 27 now new registration for vote and transfer of address would be considered on the address mentioned on the CNIC.
He added only government employees and their families who have resided any other place other than mentioned in CNIC owing to the transfer and posting can register their vote on the same.
The district election commissioner advised the people to change the address for voter list on permanent or temporary residential address till 31st December 2018 otherwise from January 2019 all addresses other than CNIC would be canceled under Elections Act 2017 section 37, 40 and 41 and would be registered on the permanent or temporary address as mentioned on the CNIC.
He further said that for the change of address in voter list or new registration form 21 can be obtained from the regional office or can be downloaded from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) web site.
Muhammad Ishaq Khan maintained that a copy of CNIC must be enclosed with the form 21 before submission to the office and blood relatives of female voters can submit their forms while this facility is also available to the old age and sick people.
He disclosed that the district election commission office of Haripur would remain open on gazetted holidays and weekly offs till 31st December to finish the process. Voters can get the information of their register votes through a SMS on 8300, adding Ishaq Khan disclosed.
