Farmers Urged To Focus On Tunnel Farming

MULTAN,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Nov, 2016 ) : The Agriculture Department has urged farmers to use tunnel-farming method for growing vegetables. In tunnel farming, more focus is put on management of temperature, balanced use of fertilizers, timely control of diseases etc, said Assistant Agriculture Officer (Information) Naveed Asmat Kohloon in a statement here Monday.
He said that tunnel farming is more productive than traditional farming. Farmers can grow cucumber, tomato, gourd, shimla pepper, brinjal and many other vegetables. The nursery of different vegetables is being planted in soil at depth of one to two centimetres. Similarly, it is easily available in market, he added.
