Health Minister Pays Tribute To Polio Workers, Reaffirms Commitment To End Polio In Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Oct, 2023) Caretaker Health Minister Dr Nadeem Jan Tuesday paid tribute to all the polio workers for performing their duties with honesty during the anti-polio drives and reaffirmed his government's commitment to end all forms of polio in Pakistan.
Talking to the ptv news channel, on the eve of World Polio Day, he appreciated the polio workers and law enforcement agencies for carrying out their responsibilities with full dedication during polio campaigns.
He urged parents living in far-flung areas of the country to cooperate with the polio teams, and “save your children from this fatal disease.”
Minister for health praised Pakistan had making great strides in the fight against poliovirus, adding that the efforts and sacrifices of the field vaccination teams, who face difficult field conditions and dangerous challenges, greatly contribute to the success of the campaigns and reducing the spread of polio-virus.
He also thanked the international community, donors, and global polio eradication partners for their support in the fight against polio as well as parents and caregivers for recognizing the importance of protecting their children from the virus.
Replying to a question, he said behind the administration of every polio drop there is a lot of effort at a national and international level.
