Hockey Olympian Atif To Attend Advanced Course In SA

LAHORE, July 20 (APP) (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 20th july, 2016) am, has been selected for the Advanced Team Physician Course (ATPC) by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) being held from November 17-19 in the South African city of Cape Town. Atif, the only medical doctor to play for Pakistan's national hockey team, played for the national team from 1995-2002 including two World Cups and one Olympics.
He was declared player of the tournament at the 1998 Champions Trophy and was the flag bearer of Pakistani contingent at the 1998 Asian Games.
"It is a great honour for me to attend such a high profile course to add to my medical profession knowledge and to serve the game in a more better way ",said the former hockey Olympian while talking to APP here on Wednesday. Atif praised the gesture of IOC for selecting for the advanced course which will help him to become experienced physician . "Such courses are vital for boosting the existing knowledge and IOC is taking keen interest in creating such opportunities for experts in the field of medicine", he added.
