Rs 196 Mln Project Of Canals Lining About To Complete

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jan, 2017 ) : A project of lining of canals in Multan irrigation zone is under progress and a sum of Rs 169 million has been spent so far on it. Assistant director irrigation (Design) Sidra Shahid told APP here on Tursday that 79 percent work has been completed so far.
She said that lining of Dhallu distributary in Vehari was in progress at a cost of Rs 71 million and 43000 feet long area of canal would be lined adding that 85 percent work has been completed on this segment.
She informed that lining of Kirpalpur canal was in progress in Multan district under a scheme worth Rs 66 million and this scheme would cover 43000 feet long canal area and 50 per cent work has been completed.
She said that lining of Muzaffarabad canal was also in progress under a Rs 54 million scheme to line 37000 feet long canal area and 95 percent work has been completed. Moreover, a sum of Rs 51 million is being spent on lining of a distributary of Trimmu Barrage and 95 per cent of the targeted 33000 feet long area of the distributary has been lined, she added.
She said that an amount of Rs 20 million would be spent on lining of Sulemanki Hota distributary while around 14000 feet long area of the distributary would be lined and 70 per cent of the work has so far been completed.
