Abbas Nawaz Reaches All-Pakistan National Junior Squash U-17 Semis

Abbas Nawaz, Huzaifa Zahid, Fahad Sharif and Waleed Khalil took berth into the semi-finals of the All Pakistan National Junior Squash Championship being played here at PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex on Wednesday
In the first quarter-final top seed Abbas Nawaz of KP recorded victory against Saad Zubair of KP in straight sets, the score was 11-7, 11-8 and 11-9. Abbas Nawaz played well and did not give much time to his rival to strike back.
In the second quarter-final Huzaifa Shahid of Punjab overpowered Fawad Hussain of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 3-0, the score was 11-9, 11-5 and 11-9. Having lot of international exposure Huzaifa Shahid from Punjab just took 19 minute to topple his rival Fawad Hussain.
In the third quarter-final Fahad Sharif of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa beat Hamza Zahid of KP by 3-1, the score was 6-11, 11-3, 11-7 and 14-12. Fahad Sharif played well and despite losing the first set he staged a comeback and marched into victory.
It was a tough battle also witnessed in the fourth set where Fahad Sharif saved two match points against Hamza Zahid of KP and won the last set by 14-12. In the fourth game Waleed Khalil of Pakistan Air Force defeated Afaq Khan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 3-2. The score was 10-12, 12-10, 9-11, 11-7 and 11-8.
