Maj Gen (R) Sahi Elected As VP Of Asian Athletic Federation

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Apr, 2019 ) :The President of Pakistan Athletic Federation Major General (Retd) Akram Sahi Saturday elected Vice President of the Asian Athletic Federation in an election meeting held at Doha, Qatar.

This was stated by Major General (Retd) Akram Sahi while talking to APP on phone. He said his election as Vice President was unanimous as the entire house reposed confidence in him during the 23rd Congress Meeting of the Asian Athletic Federation.

He said giving representation to Pakistan in the AAF mean the efforts being put in by Pakistan Athletic Federation for the promotion of athletics in the country was recognized.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan recently won gold medal of the 4x400m relay in 5th Asian Indoor Athletic Champion held in Turkmenistan while Irshad Nadeem won bronze medal in the Asian Indoor Athletic Championship.

Former International Athletes and President KP Athletic Association Habib ur Rehman Afridi and four times international gold medalists Bahre Karam, President sports Writers Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ijaz Ahmad Khan Daudzai, Secretary Imran Yousafzai congratulated Maj Gen (Retd) Akram Sahi for his election as Vice President of the Asian Athletic Federation.
