The League of Arab States condemns last week's airstrikes by Turkish jets against Kurdish targets in Iraq, its spokesman said Tuesday.
"A series of Turkish strikes on targets in northern Iraq is a breach of Iraq's sovereignty ...
They violate international law and the principle of good neighborhood," Mahmoud Afifi told reporters.
He said Turkey had ignored previous calls by the League to respect Iraq's sovereignty, in what he said was a sign of Ankara's disregard of Arab countries.
Last Thursday's airstrikes were directed at positions of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in the Sinjar and Mount Karajak regions. Ankara has vowed to continue attacking PKK, which it considers a terrorist group.
