Brazilian Presidential Candidate Bolsonaro Leading Over Rival Haddad Ahead Of Runoff- Poll

Brazilian far-right presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro from the Social Liberal Party is leading over his center-left Workers Party rival Fernando Haddad a week ahead of the second round of voting, a fresh poll showed on Monday.
MEXICO CITY (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd October, 2018) Brazilian far-right presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro from the Social Liberal Party is leading over his center-left Workers Party rival Fernando Haddad a week ahead of the second round of voting, a fresh poll showed on Monday.
According to the poll, carried out by the MDA pollster and commissioned by the Brazilian National Confederation of Transport, 57 percent of the respondents would vote for Bolsonaro at the election, while 43 percent of those surveyed voiced their support for Haddad.
The poll was carried out in 137 Brazilian municipalities, among 2,000 people. The error margin does not exceed 2.2 percent.
According to the official results of the first round of the presidential election, held on October 7, Bolsonaro won 46.03 percent of the votes compared to Haddad's 29.28 percent. As both candidates failed to surpass the threshold of 50 percent needed to win the election, the runoff will be held on Sunday.
